California Department of Transportation commissioned Artist Tyrome Tripoli to make a sculpture from roadside trash. The artist was provided with a pile of debris that Caltrans workers collected from the side of the road. Artists were paid a stipend to make a sculpture from art materials that they collected from a pile. The sculpture is displayed in their corporate headquarters.
